How to choose a right destination for medical tourism
International health travelers planning medical travel abroad have to decide where to go for health care. There is a big deal of medical directories, different associations, societies and et cetera registered all over the world which are competing in helping to find the best place for treatment oversees and promoting particular countries, hospitals and providers.
The problem is that such helpers have as a rule no legal obligations, and approaches used are not always convincible, appropriate and efficient.
It remains a big challenge for medical traveler to find a trusted source for reliable online health information about the right destination for medical care including evidence-based medical information, quality reports, certification or accreditation, mortality data, infection rates, performance data and to protect himself from misleading health information.
Recognizing that European citizens are avid consumers of health related information on the Internet and recognizing that the difficulties by evaluating of medical information available, the European Council at Feira on June 19-20 2000 supported an initiative within eEurope 2002 and as a result Quality Criteria for Health Related Websites were developed in widespread consultation with representatives of private and public eHealth websites and information providers, other industrial representatives, public officials, and representatives of government departments, international organizations, and non-governmental organizations.
These criteria consist of 6 major points and should be applied in addition to relevant Community law:
Transparency and Honesty
Authority
Privacy and data protection
Updating of information
Accountability
Accessibility
Health On the Net Foundation from Swiss /www.hon.ch/, one of most respected not-for-profit portals to medical information on the Internet, established its code of ethical conduct which is based on Quality Criteria for Health Related Websites of the European Council.
We recognize the HONcode as a minimal requirement for any health related websites and websites dealing with medical tourism as well. Any patient looking for medical care abroad is advised to check the present of the the HONcode on the website of provider or facilitator of health services. It is the start but not enough for choosing a right destination.
That is why the Institute for Cross-Border Health Care established guidelines with the aim to help international health travelers to choose a right destination for medical travel and to assist individuals in making more informed health and healthcare decisions. These guidelines can be consistently used by international health travelers planningmedical travel abroad.
Institute for Cross-Border Health Care guidelines on general principles of destination evaluation for medical care:
1. Not rely on advertising but critically analyze and check statistics, medical data bases and not at the least use your own common sense.
2. Be aware of the fact that some destinations have not only price advantages but of course some disadvantages as well. The quality of overseas hospitals and providers remains the most important and controversial issue.
3. Be sure that a destination where you are going to medical treatment is able to fulfill and satisfy all requirements needed according to US and EU standards to health care.
4. Pay attention at the provision of healthcare, life expectancy and maternal mortality ratio according to Mortality Country Fact Sheet of WHO (World Health Organization) within the country advertising itself as an attractive destination formedical travel.
5. Be aware of possibility of outbreak of pandemic as a result of poor hygiene conditions over the inhabitants
6. Consult health care data of a country in question and try to understand, whether or not it is worthy to go there and whether the services of the local medical provider could be trusted of. For more information it could be useful for medical tourists to visit the website of WHO: www.who.int/countries , which is available now in 6 international languages: Arabic, Chinese, English, French, Russian, Spanish.
7. Pay attention at the fact which total expenditure on health as % of Gross Domestic Product a destination country has and try to learn whether the destination country is able to provide health care for its own citizens, including doctors and medical stuff of the hospitals.
8. Try to learn whether legal procedures, law medical standards comply with US and European law
9. Be informed of responsibility for clinical oversight with the country of treatment and check legal status of providers
10. Be certain that the transfer of your medical records to and from facilities outside your home country is consistent with USA and EU guidelines and local follow-up care could be coordinated
11. Be informed of your rights and legal recourse, complaint proceduresin the case of undesirable outcomes prior to agreeing to travel outside your country for medical care
12. Be certain that you could resort to the legal process and obtain remedies in case of complication and should anything go wrong. So you can avoid an increased risk and uncalculated spending
13. Inform yourself about general agenda as domestic security, terrorism and political instability
14. Inform yourself about the prevalence of the corruption in Public and Other Institutions, which could infect local hospitals and health care in general. For more information about Bribe payer index and Global Corruption Barometer, please consult the website of Transparency International:www.transparency.org. The information about corruption is available in 7 international languages: Arabic, Chinese, English, French, Portuguese, Russian and Spanish.
15. Inform yourself about circulation of faked medication. Particularly in the developing world some countries praised in advertising asmedical travel destinations are supposed and proved to be the centers of faked medication production.
16. Try to understand that a variety of different factors could result that the price you pay for affordable and chip surgery would be in the end very big. And it is not only about the money. In our globalized world it is difficult sometimes to compete well with chip prices. But chip medical services could always be not good nor has a good quality.
17. Be aware about differences in nutritional habits, religious practices, family interactions and other customs
18. Be informed aware of standards of clinical excellence, pre and post operative care, levels of English spoken and medical training, cultural and language barriers
PayPal operates in 190 markets and manages more than 133 million accounts. PayPal currently allows users to send, receive, and hold funds in sixteen currencies: Australian dollar, Canadian dollar, Czech koruna, Danish krone, euro, Hong Kong dollar, Hungarian forint, Japanese yen, New Zealand dollar, Norwegian krone, Polish zloty, pounds sterling, Singapore dollar, Swedish krona, Swiss franc, and U.S. dollar. PayPal operates locally in thirteen countries, and payments from international buyers are automatically converted to your desired currency.
There is a conversion fee for accepting foreign currencies from your buyers and having them converted to U.S. dollars. Because PayPal is not a currency dealer, they must purchase foreign currencies from a bank. PayPal receives a wholesale rate (twice a day) and adds an additional 2.5 percent above this rate to determine their retail foreign exchange rate.
PayPal
PayPal is the largest of the online person-to-person payment services. Thankfully, eBay had the presence of mind to acquire this previously independent service in 2002, so it has now become the de facto standard for paying for items bought on eBay.
PayPal allows buyers to safely click and pay with a credit card, instant transfer, or e-check directly from eBay after they’ve won an auction or made a purchase. PayPal conveniently integrates into all eBay transactions. If your auction uses the Buy It Now feature or is a fixed-price listing, you can require buyers to pay for their purchases immediately with PayPal payments.
To accept credit card payments, you must have a premier or business account. Buyers may join when they
win their first auction and want to pay with PayPal, or they can go to www.PayPal.com and sign up. The story’s slightly different for the seller. You need to set up your PayPal account before you choose to accept it in your auctions or sales.
Here are more than a few particulars about PayPal accounts:
- auction payments are deposited into your PayPalaccount. Choose one of several ways to get your money:
• Have the money transferred directly into your registered checking account.
• Receive payment by check (PayPal charges $1.50 for the check).
• Keep the money in your PayPal account for making payments to other sellers.
• Withdraw the cash from an ATM with a PayPal debit card and get back 1.5 percent of the money spent on purchases.
• Shop online with a virtual credit card that carries your balance to any Web site that accepts MasterCard.
- PayPal has its own feedback system (actually called a reputation number). The number after a username reflects the number of unique PayPal Verified users with whom this user has conducted business. Buyers will see a link to your Member Information box on the Send Money Confirmation page. The higher the reputation number, the more likely the user is experienced and trustworthy. Clicking the number produces a report, giving information on the seller.
- As a seller with a premier or business account, you can choose to accept or deny a payment without a confirmed address. A confirmed address means that the ship-to address indicated by the buyer is the same as the billing address on the credit card the buyer chose to register with PayPal. On the Accept or Deny page, information about the buyer is shown, including verification status, account creation date, and participation number (same as your reputation number).
- PayPal assesses your account $10 for any chargeback. The fee is waived if you’ve fulfilled the requirements in the PayPal Seller Protection policy (see the next bullet). To specify whether you want to accept a credit card payment from a buyer without a confirmed address, log on, go to your account, and then click the Profile tab. Next, scroll down Selling Preferences and click Payment Receiving Preferences. If you accept payment from a nonconfirmed address, that transaction will not be covered by the PayPal Seller Protection policy.
- The PayPal Seller Protection policy provides up to $5000 in annual chargeback protection, unauthorized card use, and nonshipments. To qualify for this protection, you must do the following:
• Be a verified member of PayPal with a premier or business account: Allow PayPal to confirm with your bank that your checking account and address are your own.
• Ship only to a confirmed address: PayPal confirms that the buyer’s ship-to address coincides with the address to which the credit company sends monthly bills. Fraudulent shoppers often ask you to ship to another address don’t do it.
• Keep proof of shipping that can be tracked online: Here’s where those delivery confirmation things come in handy. For transactions greater than $250, you must get a signed proof of delivery from the shipper.
• Ship tangible goods: PayPal doesn’t cover goods that are transmitted electronically.
• Accept only single payments from a single account: Don’t let a buyer try to pay portions of a purchase from different e-mail addresses. Someone who’s trying to pay using several accounts may be attempting to defraud you.
• The transaction must be between U.S., U.K., or Canadian buyers and sellers: Seller protection isn’t extended to other international shipments.
Other requirements change from time to time. Check PayPal’s help area for updates. But know that if a transaction is eligible, Seller Protection Policy Eligible will appear on the individual Transaction Details page. If you have a personal PayPal account, you may still be able to accept credit card payments, but you will have to pay a hefty fee. You’ll pay 4.9 percent of the total amount collected, plus the standard $0.30 transaction fee. Seller’s fee tiers for business and premier accounts are adjusted based on the prior month’s transaction volume.
To receive the lower rates from PayPal, you must apply for merchant rate pricing. Once your sales go over $3000 a month, you must log into your PayPal account and apply. If you can’t find the link, call PayPal sales at 866-836-1648. If your sales dip below the minimum tier of $3000, you do not need to reapply.
A brilliant feature of PayPal is the ability to download your sales and deposit history to your computer. Although PayPal also offers files that integrate with QuickBooks, the standard downloads are rich in features. Rather than importing just sales figures, you see each and every detail of your transaction dates, names, addresses, phone numbers, amounts, and more. Even fees and taxes (if you charge sales tax) are broken down separately, making bookkeeping a breeze. The download imports into Microsoft Works and Excel.
Downloading your history will help you calculate income taxes and sales taxes, reconcile your accounts, predict sales trends, calculate total revenues, and perform other financial reporting tasks. It will also give you an excellent customer database. The deposits download gives you detailed information for all the deposits that you receive: payments, PayPal transaction and deposit fees, refunds, rebates, and any adjustments made to your account.
Follow these steps to download your sales and deposit histories:
1. On your PayPal Main Overview page, click the History tab.
2. Click the Download My History link, on the left side of the page.
3. Enter the time span and the file format for the information that you want to view.
A website is never finished. Think of it as a garden that needs constant attention. Maintaining your website gives you opportunities to make it a more fun and interesting place for your visitors. You need to perform a couple of key tasks regularly, the same way you would weed your garden and check your plants for bugs on a regular basis. Unlike a garden, though, this process never stops when winter comes. You never really finish a website. The web is littered with sites that no one has kept up. Don’t let your website become internet litter.
Regular Maintenance
Maintenance on your website involves certain tasks that should be performed weekly, monthly, and annually. Try to set up a regular schedule so that you don’t forget an important task. I make notes in my calendar for even the most mundane tasks so I don’t forget.
Weekly Tasks
Try to get to these tasks once a week. An easy way to remember is to pick a time and day and just do it. Make it part of your schedule.
■ Check email links—Make sure all email links work and you receive the email the links send.
■ Test forms—Test your forms to make sure the correct data is being logged and that the correct information is being reported back to the visitor.
Monthly Tasks
Try to do these maintenance tasks at least once a month. Pick a day each month and stick to it.
■ Validate links—Go through all your links at least once a month, either manually or using a link checker. Pay particular attention to external links because they may change or go offline.
■ Check search engine ranking—You should also occasionally check your place in search engines based on your key words.
Annual Tasks
■ Renew domain name—You must renew your domain name once a year. It is usually a simple task that your hosting service reminds you to do.
■ Check browsers—New browsers and new versions come out all the time. I generally test my sites when a new version comes out, but if you do the browser testing once a year you should be okay.
■ Back up files—Even if you have not made any major changes to your site in a year, you should still back up your files. You can never have enough backups, but you have to do it at least once a year.
■ Review Your SSL Certification—If you are using Secure Sockets Layer (SSL) security on your site, you might need to renew your certificate annually.
The Power of Analytics
A common question people have about their websites is “How do I track how many people come to my site?” This is not an easy question to answer. If your mom comes to your website 15 times in one day, does that count as one visitor or 15? Also, if you can get information about how many visitors you have, what other information can you get? This information is commonly called analytics. A web developer can use this information to see how their website is being used and change and maintain it accordingly. Most servers have a default level of data capture and data collection that is automatic. This means that every time a visitor comes to that web server, the web server captures some data about that visitor. This data goes beyond just counting who visited the site. It contains information such as when different people visited, what sites led them to your site, the browsers they were using, and their operating systems.
Common Analytics and What They Mean
Analytics provide statistics that can help you make decisions about improving your website. There are some excellent analytics programs out there that can help you see all the data about your website and enable you to capture more of it. Most web servers track this sort of data, but you might not have access to your server. Ask your provider whether you can access analytical data. If this isn’t possible, you might want to try a free service such as Google Analytics, which is discussed later in this article. Here is a list of the most common analytics gathered by web servers and what they mean:
■ Hits—These are individual files your web server sends to a visitor’s browser. This means that if you have a web page with six images on it, a visitor who comes to the site registers six hits. If the same visitor refreshes the same page, six more hits are logged. This is the reason why hits are not a reliable tool for measuring how many people come to your site.
■ Page views—This stat is the number of pages downloaded, no matter how many files comprise that page. So a visitor who comes to a page counts as one, and if that visitor refreshes the page, another page view is logged.
■ Unique Visitors—This is the number of individual IP addresses that access your site. This is more representative of the number of visitors, but if many people use the same computer at a school or library the numbers might be incorrect.
■ Downloads—This is a count of files downloaded from your site that you want downloaded. For example, if you have a PDF of a form, this number would tell you how many times it has been downloaded.
■ Entry Pages—These are the pages on which people enter your website. Most of the time you want people to come to your home page, but sometimes someone links to a particular page on your website. This tells you what people come to your website looking to find.
■ Exit Pages—These are the pages from which people leave your website. It is easy to make guesses as to why they leave, but it could really be anything. For example, if you have a page of links to other sites, it might be a place from which a large number of people leave your site.
■ Referrers—These are websites that have links to your site on which people have clicked to arrive on your site. Keep an eye on these to see whether new people are making references to you, and look at what they are saying. If they recommend your site for something, drop them a line thanking them.
■ Search Strings—These are search terms that people use to find your site. They help you make sure you are being found in search engines correctly.
■ Avg. Time on Site—This is the average time a person has been on your site from entry to exit. Don’t be upset if this is a low number because you are not on most websites all that long, either.
■ New Visitors—These are the visitors who come to your website for the first time.
■ Browsers Used—This tells you what browsers and versions visitors use. This helps you know what browsers to check when testing your website with different browsers.

Web directories are one of the few things that are completely hand organized in an automated computer driven internet. Web directories will take one of several forms. They may be directories of specific types of sites, such as a business web directory of a specific area, or as in the case of DMoz, a web web directory that seeks to be far more inclusive.
A web directory, to be more specific, is a catalog of sites that isn’t done by software, but rather is viewed, cataloged and maintained by human hands. They are put together and maintained by people, who view the site, determine what its worth and whether it is suitable for inclusion in the web directory, then adds or removes it as they believe is fitting.
In most cases, web directories are a great deal smaller and less inclusive than the typical search engine since they aren’t spidered automatically but rather are viewed and put into the directory by people.
Web directories also tend to be subject driven. Your site can be included in the business web directory in two different ways. You can submit your site to be reviewed by the people responsible for site addition, or one of the multiple editors of the web directory will come across your site, by being referred to it or, accidentally when surfing the internet for their own purposes.
Web directories can be both good and bad. They are smaller and will offer you much less return for your search. However when a web directory is done for a specific purpose, they are a positive approach because it is easier to assure that you are only given the content that you’re interested in.
One of the most all inclusive and better web directories that we can find online is a prime example of this. Yahoo’s web directory uses its own search engines, as well as several other search services. They offer you what you’re interested in seeing. The search engines which offer up the human added sites are well driven and your site return is usually well targeted to what you were looking for.
Yahoo maintains a web directory that is extremely useful for children, known as Yahooligans. The offerings there are easily searched and geared toward children. The site returns are kid friendly and are relevant to what children might want, making it a very positive experience for both children and parents.
Yahooligans, and DMOZ is another prime example of a positive side of SEO friendly web directories. Due to the human factor, it’s far easier to weed out those things which may have great key phrases but use them to “trick” the spiders into including them in a directory into which they do not fit and should not be included.
While less full than those web collections or search engines that offer software driven collections of web sites, web directories are more targeted because the human factor is involved. Business web directories for instance will have probably less margin for error when you view them, and you’ll likely find that there are less landing pages that lead to non-existent web sites included in them.
Even though they do not offer the rate of web site return that a more typical or standard software driven search engine will afford you, web directories are a positive part of the internet. They can offer you a far more targeted return for your search and assure that the inclusions in the directory are what they claim to be.
Humans are less readily tricked by key words and well targeted phrases than spiders for the search engines, which means that you get more of what you came for with web directories.
But we may have the possibility to save some amount of money with the Savings free coupons. The coupon will save some considerable amount of our money unconsciously by ourselves while we are shopping. Why is it possible? It is since the saving free coupon will give us so many accesses to get the discount, free up to some percent in shopping, and the free shipping when we order the goods online. Doing this, then we unconsciously save our money without setting aside some amount of money that will be tempting to spend.
One of the coupons that are available to be the best saving is the Home Depot coupons that can be used to purchase the Home Depot House Supplies. House supplies sometimes becomes the most excessive expense that can be paid by someone, so that it is a wise consideration to use the home depot coupons to get so many discounts and free shipping.
The design of the house is already a difficult thing to decide, not to mention that we encounter the problem of designing the offices, stores, shops, or cafes. The product that we sell or the service that a company offers should be represented by the design.
The trade show flooring and the trade show carpet will give the resolve to this problem of designing the special places. It is since besides they offer the selection of the regular carpets that are usually used in houses, they comes with a variety of styles and shapes for the carpets and floorings that will be suitable with offices, stores, shops, or cafes. The line of printed flooring is also available, so that the customers are able to add their own design or order so that their logo or message can be printed in the flooring.
In the trade show flooring and trade show carpet, there are also available the exhibition of logo mats and logo canopy. The company believes that the logo mats and the logo canopy are the best that served so many offices, stores, shops, or cafes to be the completing furniture to represent themselves. So many festivals and fairs are also supported with the existence of the logo mats and logo canopy, so that it is the reliable option to select one or two of the collections.
To make money online many people jump right in before they are properly prepared. You know that to be a rocket scientist, a doctor, a brick layer, a construction worker, an office worker, a teacher there are prerequisites, things you must learn, before you can be successful, you don't just jump right in unprepared.
The same applies to the Internet marketing industry even though there are unsavory people out there who'd have you believe it's a "Walk in the Park" and requires no more than the belief that you can just do it.
And I'll have to admit, it is a walk in the park compared to what you have to put up with in the working world punching a clock being a subordinate to someone who does not have your interests in mind, but there are still rules you have to follow and pitfalls you must avoid to actually make Internet marketing work for you.
Most people will not make a dime online and yet there are others who will make more in one month than most people make in a whole year. Why is that?
My answer begins with the age-old chicken or egg question, "what comes first the chicken or the egg"? Personally I vote for, well never mind, each argument you or I make comes back to the same old conclusion - I have no clue and I don't think many of us do either.
But one thing I do have a clue about and know for sure is that to make money online you must first have Passion for the company products and/or service of any Internet business from which you expect to make money.
Passion in this sense simply means that you've researched and like the company and products or services. It is then that you translate that like (or Passion) into the education, excitement and work that usually accompany Passion.
I will have to say that many online entrepreneurs are so good at what they do that they ignore passion because they can sell anything. But I'm concerned about those of you who are not so knowledgeable at working an online business successfully.
Now, I'm not trying to make anyone believe that Passion is the only thing necessary. Because to be successful you must also have a good website, good marketing, widespread advertising, company support, effective keywords, and etc. Those things are often learned from the company you join - but sidestep Passion and you reduce your chances for success dramatically.
It therefore follows that, if you have no Passion for the company and the products and services provided by that company, again, you won't attempt to do the work you are being taught.
Internet marketing work is typically not all that difficult or time consuming but it does take motivation caused by Passion to get you off and running with a sustained effort so that you won't stumble.
You have a great resource in the Internet search engines to search about the Internet Marketing industry for business opportunities, USE IT!
Your research should uncover a company that you like and have confidence in. It should be solid, founded on great principles, and easy to understand with great products and services that are sell-able for which you can have Passion. If you don't find it move on,
You can find the right opportunity containing the attributes identified above.Comments like, well, that one sounds good and the compensation plan is excellent so I guess I'll start that business - does not sound like a decision based on anything near Passion. And remember when you hear that an Internet "guru" does that, don't be tempted, because as I said earlier they are experienced and can sell just about anything, without being Passionate about the company products and services.
Note: By the way it's your goal to get to the point where you can sell about anything online. That end skill and goal is a worthy one indeed. Remember, there are other steps you must make before you step into Internet Marketing but if you don't first find the right company products and services to be passionate about, all of those other steps may just cause you a lot of frustration instead of bringing you great success.

Little words can perform wonders and make a huge difference in your sales and subsequently your profit margin. Because of this, you must find every way possible, of maximizing the impacts that your marketing materials have with your prospects. The key to running a successful business web directory is to create very high impact and a perception of good value to your customers.
There are three main things to do that will send you to the margins of profits that you have always dreamed of, when you manage and run a business web directory. These are:
• Attract the attention of your prospects • Find a means of getting customers to buy your products/ services • As much as you can, get the customers to use more and more of your products/ services
These can be achieved using just the little words on web directory. For instance, the word “All” can change any statement into a very powerful impact, telling customers that each and every one of the items you are selling is at the lowest available price and that you are offering everything that the customer needs.
For example, if you place an advert like, “16” wall fans on sale for only $200 – reg. $400; although it could be a terrific price, the wording of the ad may give an impression that only one of the fans is available for sale at this price. The ad can be made more exciting and more attention grabbing and more effective if it says: “ALL 16”wall fans on sale for only $200 – reg. $400.”
The fans could be of different models, with different values, but this ad will bring a swarm of business and that’s what matters! The other little words which make a big impact include: only, now, special easy, buy and many others.
However, the three most powerful words in marketing are:
1. Free – every person wants a free thing. Although you are not going to give away your products and services and stay in business, you can plan to offer the customers something small when they make the purchases. Something like free delivery, and possibly a free extended warranty. The most important thing to note is that you only give free products/services if doing that creates the sales at the profit you want
2. Sale –over 90% of purchases are made when it goes on sale.
3. Guarantee –no one wants to buy anything without a guarantee. Because few sellers use their guarantee as a benefit point of selling, it is an area one can cash on in. Wording is therefore such an important tool in the running of a business web directory in a profitable way.
Many people who are internet savvy and know a lot of different marketing strategies to promote their website and drive more traffic towards their websites. These techniques are used to increase sales and profits, but internet business owners or internet marketers are not the only ones who use these valuable internet searching tools. Even regular people like you and me use these tools in more ways then one. It is a way for people to not only find products and services they need in a well organized system, but it also helps the business owner increase sales and popularity throughout the internet world. That is why Google PageRank and web directories make such interesting topics to talk about.
For instance, let’s say that you are trying to search for a bank to find a loan for a car. Often times people turn to the computer and internet for researching specific services that they are either thinking about receiving or buying. This is because it is not only a lot faster then looking locating one in the phone book or by other means. But you can also find out even more information related to the company you are interested in receiving goods or services from. Usually the best way to find this information is logging onto your computer and searching the internet.
What happens next is depending on what words or phrase you type into the computer the internet pulls up websites with high rankings first. These of course are filtered through Google. The sites have previously been ranked by editor volunteers at Google who then use their Page rank mastery skills among others and give the site a certain ranking according to it’s importance.
Many people have learned way to manipulate this system by incorporating specific keywords that are known to be searched by many people. There are even some people who invest money to pay for Google adwords in order to have their websites linked to articles that have these specified keywords.
Internet marketers who know this trick pay people to compose articles using specific keywords to direct traffic to their websites. This is actually a very cunning plan and many people swear by it.
In the beginning of this technique people who discovered this began using keyword rich articles. Google being one step ahead caught on to this method and counteracted this technique by incorporating a system to place these article at the end of the lists. Therefore, using this technique actually hindered peoples Google PageRank and web directories status.
With enough time people began also catching on and discovering that keywords should only be used a few times within the text of the article in order to be picked up successfully be the search engines. And that is how the process of using keywords as an effective method for directing traffic to your website developed.
Another great example of how Google PageRank and Web directories work is let’s say you are starting your own online business. You know you have a product that will basically sell itself, but you have no idea how to get people to your website. Just like many years ago where you would see ads in newspapers and on television the same philosophy applies to the internet, just in a slightly different way.
Being the business owner my plan would be to devise a way to market my store or the products I am selling. In order to accomplish this I do some research and find out new techniques that people are using that have seen favorable results. This most likely is the incorporation of using keyword articles that affect Google PageRank and Web directories status.
Don’t get me wrong, it does take time. It isn’t like you could open an online business and expect your business to be on the first page of results when someone searches products that you sell. It can sometimes take up to a year or two before Google begins seeing your website or services as being an invaluable investment to others.
So there you have it the basics of keywords and their importance of Google PageRank and Web directories and how they can direct more traffic to your website. By incorporating this technique many people have seen their profits increase as well as their popularity sour. Hopefully you will also have the same desirable results.
By now, you probably already know that marketing is a very complex subject. There are all different kinds of marketing you can explore. The marketing we are going to talk about today is direct marketing. Direct marketing is a type of marketing that sends its message straight to the consumer. This is by telemarketing, emailing, and direct mailing prospective customers. Another way you can do this is by telling your future customer to visit your website or call your toll free number.
These are several ways to get your message from you to your target audience without any intervention. In other words, this is direct marketing.
That's not the only ways to direct market. There's also those packets you sometimes get on your home door knob, the flyers left on your windshield at the super market, billboards, the banner ads on websites that you can click on, the buttons and pens and notepads companies encourage you to take one of, and even the samples you can sometimes get from your doctor or the kids' pediatrician! I bet you didn't realize you see direct marketing just about everywhere now!
Lot of companies are big fans of this kind of marketing. It has a lot of pros. For instance, you don't have to pay huge fees to get other advertisers to market for you this way. Therefore you save money, and you still get new customers! According to Ad Age, "In 2005, U.S. agencies generated more revenue from marketing services (which include direct marketing) than from traditional advertising and media."Now, everything has to have a con, right? Well, the only con I can think of for this is it is the majority of the junk mail and spam you get daily are from direct marketing.
You may be wondering where these companies get the information needed to send out these types of ads. Well, they make up a database of names, addresses, phone numbers, and email address of potential customers. When they want to see who may need their product or service, let's say dog grooming, they can pull up all the contacts they have obtained from various pet shops and send their ads to them. It's all about knowing who to send it to. You wouldn't send a catalog full of bath soaps and candles to a man whose information you got at a sporting goods store! Instead you may send it to ladies whose information you obtained from a candle shop or a store that specializes in bath soaps. If you do not choose the right target audience you will end up with a bunch of people angry for you sending them a bunch of junk. However, if you pick the right target audience, you will have people just itching to see what your business, service, or product is all about!
Think about what you have learned so far. I bet you can think of at least 3 examples of direct marketing you have seen today. Direct marketing is everywhere! You can't help but to stumble upon it a few times a day. For instance, today i got an email from Toys-R-Us, a catalog from JCPenny, and I saw a banner ad for an online boutique. If you have gone to work you probably have seen a billboard or a sign on a bus bench. If you have been to the grocery store you may have been offered free samples or coupons. If you have been online you have probably seen ads all over the place. These are all examples of direct marketing! Now think about which ones you were actually interested in. The ones you want to know more about are the ones that are doing their job right. They have figure out what kind of person to send their ads to. They have figured out who will actually check out what they have to offer. They have figured out a direct marketing method that works for them. Now what works for one company, product, or service may very well not work for another. In fact, unless you are offering something extremely similar, chances are their target audience is not who you are looking for.
Direct marketing is a technique lots of companies, products, and services swear by. A lot of people get very good results from it if they do it right. I'm sure a few have tried it and thought it wasn't for them, but you can't expect everyone to like the same marketing style just like you can't expect everyone to like the same breed of dog or the same flavor ice cream. People are all different. You have to find what works for you and stick to it. If you are ready to start your adventure of direct marketing then I wish you luck. If not, keep looking for your type of marketing.
In May 1970 revelation of President Richard Nixon’s covert military action in Cambodia sparked demonstrations on college campuses across America. Students at Ohio’s Kent State University rioted on May 1 and burned the campus ROTC building on May 2, prompting Governor James Rhodes to mobilize the NATIONAL GUARD. Another demonstration was in progress on May 4, when Guardsmen opened fire with rifles and at least one pistol, killing four unarmed students and wounding nine more. Nixon described himself as “deeply saddened” by the deaths at Kent State and others in a similar shooting at Mississippi’s Jackson State College.
FBI agents were assigned to investigate the Ohio shooting, while Nixon appointed a President’s Commission on Campus Unrest (better known by the name of its chairman, former Pennsylvania governor William Scranton) to do likewise.
G-men submitted 8,000 pages of testimony to the Scranton Commission, while Director J. EDGAR HOOVER complained that the investigation cost $274,100 in overtime pay. (Staff members at Kent State told their congressmen that agents spent much of that time examining classroom lesson plans and probing the political beliefs of various professors.) Long before the investigation was finished, Hoover told White House aide Egil Krogh that “the students invited and got what they deserved.”
In fact, Hoover’s own agents documented an 11- second burst of undisciplined and indiscriminate gunfire, including at least 54 (and perhaps 60) shots fired by 29 of the 78 Guardsmen present. None of the four students killed had been demonstrators; they were shot at ranges between 85 and 139 yards from the Guardsmen, two with their backs turned and one while lying prone on the ground. Of the nine students wounded, only one appeared to be a demonstrator, shot while making “an obscene gesture” to the Guardsmen from 20 yards away; the rest were shot at distances of 37 to 250 yards.
A JUSTICE DEPARTMENT summary of FBI reports likewise dismissed claims that the Guardsmen believed themselves to be under sniper fire. At the time of the shootings, the National Guard clearly did not believe they were being fired upon.
No Guardsman claims he fell to the ground or took any other evasive action and all available photographs show the Guard at the critical moments in a standing position and not seeking cover. In addition, no Guardsman claims he fired at a sniper or even that he fired in the direction from which he believed the sniper shot. Finally, there is no evidence of the use of any weapons at any time in the weekend prior to the May 4 demonstration. Furthermore, six Guardsmen (including a captain and two sergeants) also “stated pointedly that the lives of the members of the Guard were not in danger and that it was not a shooting situation.”
As for the 11 Guardsmen who later expressed mortal fear, the Scranton Report concluded: “We have some reason to believe that the claim by the National Guard that they thought their lives were endangered by the students was fabricated subsequent to the event.”
A report in the Akron Beacon Journal (May 24, 1970) corroborated that claim with a quote from one of the Guardsmen: “The guys have been saying that we got to get together and stick to the same story, that it was our lives or them, a matter of survival. I told them I would tell the truth and couldn’t get in trouble that way.”

Garden coaches have only emerged on the gardening scene in the past few years but already it seems as though they're passing their use-by-date. With a new generation of gardeners blooming due to the "I-want-to-grow-my-own-organic-veggies" trend - but wanting that to happen within the next 30 seconds, or else - is the game up for garden coaches? Will the real growth trend this year be the need for garden babysitters?
Garden coaches are gardening guru's who consult and mentor newbie gardeners to care and understand for their plants and their yards. They will give advice, offer suggestions and assist the newbie in specifics as set out in the agreed TOS (terms of service). They offer a special set of skills and should be able to demonstrate, at least, these 8 qualities of a good garden coach.
But, is this really what newbie gardeners want? The impression that I, and others, get is that novices from the upcoming generation are all about having it done for them. In other words, they're not looking for a coach per se, but would happily employ the services of a cheap plant babysitter if someone were offering the service.
For this generation, gardening is something that happens once and if it fails is then relegated to the "too-hard" basket. They are still inspired to grow their foodstuffs organically but aren't willing to put the time and effort into mastering the "art" of gardening.
Instead of being coached, these upcoming novices are really looking for a service where they can plant their own garden yet leave it for someone else to make it look good. As the plants progress, and succeed, their enthusiasm may increase but until that happens it really needs to be taken care of by someone else - similar to a wet-nurse for celebrity mothers.
So, while garden coaches may still find a niche to explore, the real growth trend for gardening professionals probably hasn't even been started yet. But, the opportunity is beginning to expose itself.
